Frequent Asked Questions

If you have any other questions or need more information, feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help and will get back to you as soon as I can.

Do you bill ICBC, CVAP, FNHA, or VAC?

At this time, I do not bill ICBC, CVAP, FNHA, or VAC.

How many sessions will I need?

There’s no set number of sessions. Therapy is a very personal process and depends on your goals, needs, and pace. Some clients come for short-term support, while others prefer longer-term work.

What can I expect from the first session?

The first session is a space to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals, relevant background information, and what you’re hoping to get from the process. We’ll also make sure you feel comfortable and supported working together.

What is the difference between a consultation and a therapy session?

A consultation is a brief phone call where we get to know each other, talk about what you’re looking for, and see if we’re a good fit. It’s a chance to ask questions and decide whether you’d like to move forward with therapy.

A therapy session is a full, ongoing therapeutic space focused on your goals, experiences, and growth.

Can I sign someone else up for counselling?

Counselling needs to be initiated by the person seeking support. While you can encourage a loved one to reach out, it’s important that they choose to book themselves when they feel ready.

Can my loved one and I see you for therapy?

No. To avoid conflicts of interest and to protect the therapeutic process, I’m not able to work individually with two people who have a close relationship (such as partners, family members, or close friends).

How often are sessions scheduled?

Many clients start with sessions every two weeks for the first few sessions. From there, frequency can be adjusted based on your needs, preferences, schedule, and insurance coverage. This is something we’ll explore together during the first session.

Do you offer direct billing? How do extended benefits work?

I do not offer direct billing. Sessions are paid at the time of the appointment, and you can then submit the receipt to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your plan.
